Every Fitness Studio Format
We Clean in Melbourne
Different studio formats have completely different cleaning requirements — from the shared mats and props of a yoga studio to the close-contact sweat environment of a spin room. We're equipped for all of them.
Yoga studios require mat-safe, natural rubber-compatible disinfectants and careful floor cleaning to maintain grip surface. Shared props including blocks, straps, bolsters, and blankets need individual sanitisation.
- All yoga mats — front and back
- Blocks, straps, and bolsters
- Hardwood or vinyl floor clean
- Mirror wipe and touch-points
- Mat-safe TGA products only
Spin studios generate the highest sweat volume of any studio format. Every bike seat, handlebar, and adjustment dial needs wiping between every class. Floors accumulate sweat rapidly and require immediate mopping.
- Every bike seat and handlebar
- Resistance dial and adjustment levers
- Full floor sweat mop
- Ventilation check
- Odour treatment
Pilates studios typically feature reformer machines, cadillacs, chairs, and barrels alongside mats. Reformer upholstery, straps, springs, and footbars are all high-contact surfaces requiring full disinfection between sessions.
- Reformer carriage and footbar
- Upholstery pads and headrest
- Springs, straps, and handles
- Cadillac and chair surfaces
- Mat and prop clean
HIIT studios combine high sweat output with shared equipment — boxes, weights, battle ropes, TRX straps, and rubber floor zones. The rapid class turnover demands an equally rapid, thorough clean that hits every touched surface.
- Plyo box surfaces
- Dumbbells and kettlebells
- Battle rope full-length wipe
- TRX strap handles
- Rubber floor spot-clean
Dance studios feature sprung or floating hardwood floors that require strict low-moisture cleaning protocols. Barres, mirrors, and audio equipment are wiped between every class. Floor maintenance is critical for dancer safety.
- Sprung floor low-moisture clean
- Barre disinfection — full length
- Full mirror wipe and polish
- Audio equipment wipe-down
- Entry and exit mats
Boxing and functional fitness studios require sanitisation of gloves, pads, bags, and all shared equipment between sessions. These environments carry the highest pathogen load of any studio format.
- Boxing bags — full surface wipe
- Focus pads and mitts
- Speed ball and stand
- Rubber floor full clean
- Heavy anti-bacterial treatment

Cleaning That Works
Around Your
Class Schedule
A group fitness studio has one critical operational requirement that general commercial cleaning companies are simply not set up to meet: the ability to deliver a complete, thorough clean in the 10 to 15 minutes between consecutive classes. Standard commercial cleaners show up once a day, often after hours, and have no understanding of the rapid cycle a busy studio operates on. The result is instructors rushing to wipe down mats and bikes themselves before the next class walks in.
Golden Star's group fitness studio cleaning service is built around your timetable. Before any program begins, we receive your class schedule, identify every gap window, and design a cleaning protocol that delivers a full turnover clean within your available time. Our teams are positioned and ready before each class ends — so the moment the room empties, we're already in and working to a tight, documented protocol.
"The moment a member walks into a studio that smells of sweat from the previous class, or notices a damp yoga mat that hasn't been wiped, the perception of your brand drops significantly. First impressions in studio environments are set in the first 10 seconds."
We cover all major studio formats across Melbourne — yoga, spin, Pilates, HIIT, boxing, Barre, and dance studios. Our cleaning protocols are format-specific, using products safe for every surface type found in each studio environment, from natural rubber yoga mats to reformer upholstery to hardwood sprung floors.
How We Complete a Full
Studio Turnover in 15 Minutes
Every second of your class gap is accounted for. Our teams work to a minute-by-minute protocol designed for each studio format — here's how a standard yoga studio turnover looks.
Team stationed outside enters immediately as class clears. No waiting, no delay. Products and cloths already prepared.
Floor disinfectant applied across the full studio floor in a continuous sweep while mats are being collected and stacked.
Every yoga mat wiped front and back. Blocks, straps, and bolsters sprayed and wiped. Mats returned to position.
Full floor mopped using low-moisture technique. Pre-sprayed area with adequate dwell time already achieved — rapid wipe and dry.
Door handles, light switches, speaker controls, and full mirror glass wiped. Ventilation checked and fan activated if required.
Team exits with all equipment. Digital completion logged. Studio is ready — clear of staff before the next class arrives at 15 minutes.
We guarantee completion within your class gap window — if we don't finish in time, we'll discuss your timetable and adjust our team size at no extra cost until the protocol works.

We Build Your
Timetable Into
Every Program
Before we start any studio cleaning program, we sit down with your timetable and design a cleaning schedule around it — not the other way around. Every class gap is mapped, every transition window identified, and a protocol designed to fit comfortably within it. When your timetable changes, we update accordingly.
We receive your weekly class schedule and identify every gap window, studio format, and class type that affects cleaning requirements.
A format-specific cleaning protocol is designed for each studio — specifying exactly what is cleaned, in what order, and in what timeframe for each gap window.
Our team is positioned outside the studio and ready to enter the moment class ends — no downtime, no delay. We're never the reason a class starts late.
We confirm any timetable changes with 24-hour notice and accommodate last-minute adjustments. A live contact is available to your studio manager at all times during cleaning hours.

Learn MoreStudio Cleaning FAQs
The most common questions Melbourne fitness studio operators ask before starting a program.
How long does a between-class clean take?
A standard between-class studio turnover clean takes 10–15 minutes for studios up to 80m². This covers a full floor clean, all mat and prop sanitisation, equipment wipe-down (mats, bikes, reformers, or props depending on format), mirror clean, and touch-points. We work to your specific class gap time — if you have a 12-minute window, we design a protocol that finishes in 11. For larger studios, we scale our team size to maintain the same window.
Do you clean yoga mats as part of the service?
Yes — mat sanitisation is included as standard in every yoga and Pilates studio clean. We use TGA-approved products specifically rated as safe for natural rubber yoga mat surfaces — standard commercial disinfectants can degrade natural rubber over time, compromising grip and mat lifespan. Mats are wiped front and back and repositioned for the next class. Blocks, straps, bolsters, and any other shared props are included in the same process.
Can you work around a tight class timetable?
Yes — timetable integration is the core of what we do. Before starting any studio program, we receive your full class schedule and design a cleaning protocol around every gap window in it. Our teams are stationed and ready outside the studio before each class ends — we never walk in while a class is in session, and we never delay the start of the next one. When your timetable changes, a 24-hour notice to our team coordinator is all that's needed.
How much does studio cleaning cost?
Between-class studio turnover cleans start from $80 per session for studios up to 80m². Full daily studio cleans start from $120 per day. Pilates studio programs (including reformer equipment) start from $110 per session. Spin studio programs start from $95 per session. Programs for multiple studios are quoted on a per-site basis. Call 0484 042 336 for a timetable-based quote.
Can you clean spin bikes and reformers?
Yes — specialist equipment cleaning is a core part of our studio programs. For spin studios, every bike seat, handlebar, resistance dial, and adjustment lever is wiped between every class. For Pilates studios, reformer carriages, upholstery, shoulder pads, footbars, springs, and straps are all sanitised using vinyl-safe, upholstery-safe products. Equipment-specific protocols are documented and followed consistently on every visit.
Do you clean during or only between classes?
We clean between classes only — never during. Our teams are briefed specifically on studio protocol and understand that a cleaning team entering an active session is unacceptable. We position outside the door, enter the moment the class exits, and exit before the next class enters. For studios with very short gap windows (under 8 minutes), we can scale team size so the protocol still fits without needing to work during any part of an active session.
Are your products safe for sprung hardwood floors?
Yes. Sprung and floating hardwood floors in dance and yoga studios require strict low-moisture cleaning with pH-neutral, timber-specific products. We never use standard wet mops on timber studio floors — over-wetting is the primary cause of hardwood cupping, which can render a floor unusable and cost tens of thousands of dollars to replace. Our microfibre flat-mop low-moisture technique maintains floor safety and protects your investment on every clean.
Can studio cleaning be bundled with other gym services?
Absolutely — and most of our clients do exactly this. Studios that are part of a larger gym facility typically bundle their studio turnover cleans with daily equipment cleaning for the main floor, locker room and shower maintenance, and gym floor cleaning into a single full facility program. Bundled programs are priced at a reduced per-service rate and managed through a single point of contact. Ask about full facility programs when you book your free assessment.
